Why measure Fear & Greed?
The meme market moves in waves. Traders remember the crazy green days, but during fearful markets almost nothing launching is actually tradeable. Forcing entries there usually just burns capital.
When greed takes over, runners start appearing back to back. But with the upside comes crowding, faster rotations, and late-cycle risk.
The Fear & Greed Index turns raw on-chain activity into a simple 0–100 meter showing what regime you are actually trading in. No sentiment feeds. No polls. No vibes. Just swaps.
0 = extreme fear · 100 = extreme greed
What counts as a runner?
A runner is a fresh pump.fun launch that actually moves. To qualify, it must:
Wash-traded mints, one-tick pumps, and bundled launches that start artificially inflated are filtered out.
How it works
The Fear & Greed Index looks at every pump.fun swap over the trailing 28 days. Each signal is compared against its own normal range: normal conditions score around 50, while double-normal activity scores 100. The index combines:
The number of launches that produced a real tradeable winner. The main breadth signal.
How far the winners actually run. A market full of $60K pops feels very different from one printing million-dollar runners.
The median peak market cap of successful launches. Are the average winners getting stronger or weaker?
How many tokens are entering the arena. It measures how much attention and liquidity is flowing into the market.
